THE DEATH OF SAIED HABIB. (By Telegraph—Press Association.) Wairoa, May 10. The police received information to the effect thut some clothing had been found at Mr. Soberts's premises- in Locke Street and had been identified as belonging to Saied Habib, aged 21, a Syrian hawker. Search was made, and a constable recovered the body of Habib in a. well at tho back-of the premises. A verdict was returned of found drowned. CHILD FATALLY SCALDED. i Auckland, May 10. A child two years of age, Stephen Deckett, whose parents Teside in Cornwall Road, Mount Roskill, fell iuto a bath of boiling water, and was so severely scalded that death took placo after his removal to the hospital. ENGINE-DRIVER'S DEATH. Christchurch, May 10. A verdict of accidontal death was returned at tho inquest on Thomas J'ringle, engine-driver, who was injuied on tho south line last week. The train that Pi'ingle was driving included a "dead" engine, and as something seemed wrong with its brakes, "Priiiglo climbed over the tender to examine thmn. lie was returning to his engine 'when his head struck an overhead bridge, 'flic injuries did not at first apjiear to be serious, but on Sunday l'ringle lapsed into unconsciousness and died in the hospital. Inglis Bros, write as follows:— Regarding your report of the motor accident which happened at Soulh ICilbirnie appearing in yesterday morning's pnper, the driver's name Riven is "Inglis." Wo would .like to correct .this, for the driver of the taxicab (not cv) is named "Scoullar."
