■ —: >- , There was, a large audience at the Missions to Seamen Institute last Evening, :when the weekly ambulance meeting was held. Mr. James Moore, the Missioner, gave demonstrations showing the methods of lifting patients, and restoring a suffocating person.' He also gave several useful hints in connection with various ambulance work and health matters. ' Competitions relating to first aid were held, and won by sailors from ships in port. An enjoyable programme of music was provided by Miss < M. Cunningham, the following contributing items:—Mrs: Chapman, Misses Cunningham, Wilson, Cashman, and Messrs. Dennis and Benge. Mrs. Chapman played the accompaniments. The performers were accorded a hearty vote of thanks at the conclusion.
