Mcssrß. Dalgcty and Co., Ltd.. report:— At our Danncvirke sale yesterday, a large entry of sheep and cattle was submitted to a good attendance of buyers. The following arc some of the principal prices realised: f.m. ewes in lamb, from 6s. 9d. to Bs. 9d.; mixed lambs, ss. 3d. to Bs. 6d.; shorn mixed lambs, ss. 3d. to 7s. 7d.j fat bullocks, up to £7 17s. 6d.; fat cows, £4 14s. to £5; two-year steers, £4 to £5; mixed sex weaners, up to 325.
Messrs. Dalgoty and Company, Limited, report on tho fortnightly sale held at their Upper liutt yards on Thursday last, Shoop: There were no sheep offering. Cattle: Wo had a, large offering of cattle, the yards ■ being flllurl to their utmost capacity. Some vory nice lines of dairy heifers, closo to drop, were on offer, but which there was keen competition, prices ranging from £5 to £0 15s. All lines of young cattle also were in keen demand, and. practically all our yarding wa3 cleared at prices satisfactory to vendors. We quote the following realisations:—Dairycows: Springing, £6 17s. 6d. to £0155., backward sorts £3 10s. to £5, in milk £4 to £6, store cows £2 lis., fat cows £4 2s. to £4-17s. 6d.; springing heifers, £5 to £8 145.; heifers in calf, backward sorts, £3 175.: tw i-year heifers (empty), £3 ;to £3 175.: yearling heifers, £2 9s. 6d.; weaners, £1 13 j. 6d. to £1 155.; fifteen-months steers, £2 Bs.; bulls, £3 2s. 6d.; four-year hack, £11 15s.
Messrs. Dalgety and Co., Ltd., report having bold their weekly, sale at Ekota : huaa on Friday, May .6. The report states:—Wo had a good yarding of both sheep and cattle, but sheep mot with a very dragging sale. The quality all through was not good. Competition; for cattle, however, was keen throughout.: We quote:—Sheep: Best breeding ewes, 10s. Id. to lis.;.poorer sorts, 55.. 6d. to 7s. 9d.; empty ewes, 4s. 9d. to 75.; fat owes, 10s. lid.; lambs, 3s. 9d. to ss. Id.; better sorts, to 6s. 4d. Cattle: Fat cows, £4 7s. 6d. to £4 155.; cows in calf, £2 17s. to £3 2s. 6d.; dairy cows, £3, 15s. to £5; springing heifers, £3 to £4 55.; empty cows, £2 ss. to £2 18s.; weaners, 235. to 2Ss.; two to two-and-a-half-ycar steers, £4 Is. to £4 6s.
Messrs. Abraham and Williams, Ltd., report :—At Shannon yesterday wo had a fair yarding of sheep and cattle, and a heavy yarding of pigs. All stock sold well at auction, and wc made a total clearance under the hammer. Pigs excited keen competition, and tho whole entry was sold at prices (in most cases) in vendors' favour. Wo quote:—Empty forward ewes. Bs. 2d. to 10s. Id.; two-tooth wethers (small), Us. 6d.; store lambs, 4s. to 6s. 2d.; store ewes, 6s. id.; springing .cows, £4 to £5; empty forward cows, £3 ss.'to £3 155.; fat cows, £4; 15s. to £5 10s.;. fat heifers, £5 10s.; store cows, £2 ss. to £2 155.; weaner heifers, 31s. 6d.; empty heifers, £3 10s.; baconers, 335. to 365.; porkers, 225. 6d. to 305.; stores, 15s. to 21s. 6d.; weaners, 75.-6 d.
The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Company, Ltd., market report is as follows:—At Feilding oil Friday we had a heavy yarding of both sheep and cattle. Buyers were present for good breeding owes and well-grown lambs,- and practically a total clearance was effected. Cattle sold well, all'.'classes being in strong demand, and all lines selling in favour of the vendors. Wo quote.—Sheep: Small lambs; 4s. to 4s. 10d.; small woolly lambs, ss. lid.; mixed lambs, 7s. 9d.; wether lambs (good), fis. lid.; small two-tooth owes, lis. Bd.; good two-tooth ewes in lamb, 15s. 6d.; mixed-age owes, lis. Id.; on account of Mr. D. Crozier, four and six-tooth owes, 16s. lOd. to 165.; six-tooth ewes, 17s. 3d.; forward wethers, 14s. 3d.;.store ewes, Bs. Id,; store wethers, 12s. Mr. Newton King's weekly stock report lis as follows:—At Douglas on Monday the yards were taxed to the utmost, to accommodate all the cattle that came forward. There, was also a fair yarding of sheep. Bidding for all classes was brisk, everything with the exception of a line of 36 four-year bullocks, being sold at the , hammer.
