Mr. Cains, President of the Montreal Board of Trade, states that Canada wants to be left alone to work out her own commercial destiny. When reciprocity would have been useful to Canada, Washington turned a deaf ear to all .representations. Canadians now desired to avoid tariff complications with tho United States. London, May 6. Tho Ottawa correspondent of the "Daily Mail" states that negotiations with tho United States for reciprocity will be impossiblo before October.
