A deputation of State Labour members of Parliament waited on the Solicitor-General, and presented a petition in favour of the release of the imprisoned strike leaders (Mr. Bowling and others) on the grounds that, industrial peace having beon restored, the public peace would not be jeopardised by their release, and that the prisoners were ■ men of '■ good character, whose offences were committed as representatives of their organisations. . The Solicitor-General promised consideration of the petition.
