NEW RAILWAY STATION.
WHEN WILL IT BE STARTED? "NOT THIS TEAR," SAYS ME. MILLAR. Questioned by a Dominion reporter yesterday, the Hon. ,T. A. Millar remarked that the now central railway station for Wellington could not be proceeded with until the Hutt duplication works wore completed. The reporter: Will the duplication works be finished this yen#? Mr, Millar: Wo expect them to be completed by December of this year. Mr. Millar.said that in the meantime the Railway Department intended to procure oopies of the plans of th(< most modern railway stations in the world. When these had all come to hand a suitable design would be prepared, having in view the situation and requirements in conhecti6n with 'he proposed buildings. "Will the new ''.ation bo puroly for passenger traffic?" Mr. Millar was asked. In rej>ly he said that it had not yet been quite decided, but ho thought that the goods traffic would have to be kept separate from the passenger traffic.
