With regard to the intention (cabled yesterday) of the Transvaal Lower Housti to pay members of Parliament J3OO each for a 16 days' session, without putting the proposal before tho Legislative Council, three members of that body hare invoked the law. • At their instance, the Chief Justice of the Transvaal has granted a rule nisi, returnable on Friday, restraining tho Colonial Treasurer (Mr. H. C. Hull) from paying members of the Assembly the .£3OO, on the ground that tho payments are illegal.
