May 2, 1.5 a.m.) Ottawa, May 1. ; The Canadian Naval Bill, which establishes a Canadian squadron of , five cruisers (four Bristols, 'one Boadicea) and six destroyers— subject to tho Canadian Parliament's ruling as to when and where it shall go to wan —has ■ passed the Canadian Senate without amendment. COMMONWEALTH POLICY. MEN FOR HOME TRAINING; (Rec. May 1, 5 p.m.) London, April 30. • The ■ Australian naval draft has arrived, and is proceeding to Portsmouth to commence torpedo, gunnery, and signalling classes immediately. Engi-neer-Lieu'ts. Robertson and Barnes have joined the oil fuel course. Passengers aboard tho Orient steamer Otranto showed their interest in the naval draft by subscribing £132 to purchase two shields for annual gunnery and torpedo competitions under service conditions.
