ROBERTSON DEFEATS PRECHNER. {By Telegraph-—Frees Association.! Stratford, April 30. A cat-ch-as-catch-can wrestling contest, L. S. Robertson versus Joe Prechner, for the light-weight championship of New Zealand and a side stake, took place' here last night, resulting in what experts describe as the finest contest ever seen iu the Island: Robertson's weight' was ten stone and half a ponnd, his opponent being about ten pounds lighter. Robertson proved the victor, gaining 'the first fall in 48min., and the second in 23min. The contes,t throughout was most even and exciting. Both men are finished exponents of this style of wrestling, Robertson Raving been six times light-weight champion ,of Scotland, and Prechner having been feather-weight champion of 'the world. A match between ■ Robertson and Gardiner is being arranged.
