WAIWETU CLUB. The members of the newly-formed Waiwetu Golf' Club assembled in large numbers on the Hutt Park on Saturday afternoon, when practice games were indulged in. The official opening will take place in about three weeks' time, and, judging from the list of member-, ship, this club should hare a successful career. The caretaker of the Hutt Park has got the . links in very good order, and their hazardous appearance should provide plenty of scope fof experienced players, llr. Gardner, of the staff of the Lower Hntt Borough Council, has been appointed lion, secre-1 tary, and will be pleased to provide any information concerning the new club to intending members. | The Miramar Golf Club's first medal competition was played on Saturday afternoon. The best scores in the senior were E. Y. Mills and E. H. Liddle, whose cards were 81 net. The junior competition was won by J. C. Peacock, with a net score of 86.
