A case of what may ho called "playground law" was decided by tlio Court of Appeal, Lord Halsbury presiding. It was hold that tho Surrey County Council was liable for damages in tlio ease of a boy who broke his arm through putting his foot into a hole m the asphalt at tlie public elementary school at Woking. Tlio council was charged with negligence for not keeping the playground in proper repair.
Tlio re-erection of Crosby Hall 011 the site of Sir Thomas Morc's garden in Cholsea will bo followed in tho first week of July by a pageant reviewing the outstanding episodes of its history from its erection by John Crosby in 14G6 to Queen Elizabeth's reconciliation of Lord Mayor Spencer and his daughter after tho lattor's elopement with Lord Conipton.
