As the result of divorce proceedings in England in ' 1904, an Englishwoman, Mrs. Hawkes, secured an order of the. Court 'giving-'her custody 1 of her,two children. From the date of the trial her husband and children disappeared, and the mother remained ':in ignorance of their where? abouts' till, a few weeks ago,, when she learned that they were in Western Australia.
Mrs. Hawkes arrived by the mail boat this week, and legal machinery was'put in motion to establish her claims. - The mother, met her ohildren to-day for the first time for sis years.
