KITCHENER'S FUTURE.
f MEBITERRANEAN INADEQUATE. INDIA WANTS HIM. By Mewaph—Pxeea Association—Oopyrleht (Rec. April 28, 0.40 a.m.), London, April 27. The pending arrival of Field-Marßhal Lord Kitchener, from his world-tour, is the theme of many leading articles.
"The Times" refers to his coming to take up the duties of the Mediterranean command as natural. He should bo attracted by the' prospect of renewed work in, Egypt, but. England was loth that he' should be lost from view for any great length of..time...
The "Daily Chronicle" (Liberal) in a special article says that • although the Mediterranean is still the geographical centre of the Empire, it is almost ludicrously unworthy of Lord Kitchener's abilities. . He could exhaust all its possibilities in throe months.
The "Chronicle" adds that the inoessant cry of every Anglo-Indian is: "When Lord Minto goes, send us K. of K."
