ADDITIONAL RESULTS,
Tho following additional returns in connection with the School Committer elections havo been received:—
Boikorangi: Mossrs. R, Stubbings (chairman), A. Neilsen (secretary), J. Monk, -S. Connor, R. Greig, J. T. Kent, and W. R. Peone. Mr. J. T. Kent presided. Recommendations to tho incoming coinmittco wero made as follow (a) Owing to tho increasing attendance, tho board bo again approached with regard to an addition to tho present building; (b) that during tho winter months, from May 1 to October 1, the school open at 9.30 a.m. and close at 3 p.m., having half an hour for.lunch; (c) that tho animal school picuic bo held away from the district, say, Paekakariki;'(d) that parallel bars bo erected for tho" boys.
Carterton: Mossrs. J. G. Mooro (cltairman); R. J. Chapman, T. H. Hughes, A. F. Wilson, J. M. Nicholls, Coleman, Phillips, J. Callister, Rev. Mr. Thompson, and Mr. J. H. Waktlin. Slessrs. Chapman, Phillips, and Wakelin are tho only new members of the committee. - . Otaki; Some twenty householders attended the meeting for the election of a school committee' last night, Mr. W. Tompsitt-presiding. The following were re-elected:—Messrs. J. R. Bills,' "W. Warn, C. H. Williams, W. J. Row, W. Bassott, W. Keegan, and M. H. Ayro.
Shannon: About 50 householders attended at tho school on Monday night whoh 1 the school committeo olection was held. Fourteen candidates were nominated, and the following is the result of the ballot:—Messrs. D.. Gardner (-14), J: Batchdor (®); F. Linsell (40), G. Harris (37), T. Wells (29), J. Rctter (26), C. Vagg (22), J. Brensten (1/), E. J. Judd (15),'Swindleh'Ufst (14), A. Merwood (11), J. Peters (10), A. Monteath (13), F. Lush (4). Mr. C. B. Robinson, - who presided, declared'the first seven' elected.. The following is taken from the Teport of the chairman (Mr. E. Law) of the retiring commit-, too:—Had it not been for an outbreak' of whooping cough during the task quarter of. the year, tho. school would have been entitled ,to an extra teacher. Tho result, is., that, now the'staffing of the school is moro inadequate than ever as • there are now 208 children on the roll, with an average. attendance for last quarter of IGS, both ■' being the .highest numbers -in the history of, tho school.,-' It is to';bo hoped that the average attendance will be. maintained so that- an. extra teacher may bo added to the staff. r yery interesting experiments werp . carried; out with-the cultivation of various grasses. . The headmaster was entitled; to. tho best thanks ,pf the parents for. the interest he took in this work. . A net pfcfit of-£I2 17s. 9d. was realised from tho school concert. The balance in hand was £11 2s. 9.-1. ...
Woodville: —Messrs. Burnett, Harris; Kirkpa;trick, Tyerman,. Franklin, TJiomas, M'Farlane, and E. Harding. A vote was taken' for tho guidance of the committee 'on the - advisability of striking' a levy on the upper standards to cover, costs ; -of stationery for .the year. ' The voto was in favour of the levy being made.
