A BEILLIANT INSTALLATION ... CEBEMONT. GEAND BALL IN THE TOWN 'HALL. The seoond week in May will be a redletter one in the history of Freemasonry in Wellington. On that occasion approximately 500 Masons from all parts of New Zealand will visit this city to attend the Communication of Grand Lodge, a gathering which has a special significance this year,' owing to the early departure of his Excellency the Governor, Lord Plunket,. ,who has taken ■ such a lively interest in Freemasonry during his stay in New Zealand. The proceedings will commence on Wednesday, May 11, at 2 p.m., when Grand Lodge will meet in the Concert Chamber of the Town Hall for the condnct of business. The same evening a brilliant function will be enacted in the , Town Hall proper, when the M.W. the Grand Master Elect, the E.W. Bro. C. J. W. Griffiths (of Blenheim), will be installed in office by Lord Plunket, at the conclusion of which ceremony his Excellency will be presented with a handsome service of plate, in the manufacture of which 1000 ounces of silver has been used. On this occasion it is estimated that some 1500 Masons will be present. On Thursday, May 12, Grand Lodge will meet in the Concert Chamber for the conduct iof ordinary business at 9.30 a.m., and, if the weather permits, delefates will be taken, for a trip across the arbour in' the afternoon, and will be offered hospitality, at Day's Bay. That evening there will be a grand ball in' the Town Hall. On Friday, April 13, it is proposed that visitors should be afforded an opportunity of seeing the city, and to that end special tram-cars will be requisitioned that will traverse the whole of the system. '
