THE MANAWATU CLUB. Tho Manawahi Golf Clnb opened its season, on the Hokowhitu Links on Saturday afternoon under anything but pleasant coriditions, a heavy cold southerly wind blowing over the links. The opening: had to be postponed from tho previous Saturday owing to inclement weathor, and consequently a number of 'alterations had to be made in the composition,of tho handicap foursomes, and it was somewhat late before tho gamo began. Notwithstanding the unfavourable weather, howevor, some good play was shown. The best cards were returned by Mr. and Mrs. Allan Strang, 66, handicap. 8—58; Seymour and Miss S. Abraham, 72-9-03; J. Slack and Miss Slack, 74—11-63; Mr. and Mrs. H. G. Moore, 75—12—G3; C. Louisson and Miss G.Johnston, 74-10-64; H. C. Millsop and ;'Mrs. Stowart, 76—12-64; Mr. and Mrs. P. L. Sim, 77-12-S5. - ,
