PETONE WEST SCHOOL. ''The'final meeting for the year of the Petone West School Committee was held last evening. Present: Messrs. J. C. Castle (chairman), Erans, Davis, Maycard, Cotton, : Burridge, and Parrant. The committee invited ■ Messrs;' Beddingfield and Robertson to act as judges for the garden plots, as Mr. Dndding wbs unablo to 'do so. A .-vote of thanks ■was accorded Mr. S. Burridge for his donation of £1 Is. for the best plot. The ■ secretary's report: showed that a water service had been laid all round the school and that the garden plot scheme had been a,gr<>at success. i The • headmaster's report stated that the school had opened last September with 394 names on the roll. During the fust term .46 were admitted and 45 withdrawnv leaving a roll at the end of the term of 395. Daring the second term 78 were admitted and 81 withdrawn, leaving a roll at the end of March of 392. The average attendance for this, term was 348. • .:.:■■■
