■ ; . ' — ♦- : — (By Telegraph.—Special Correspondent.l • Wanganui, April 18. A couple of , subsidences have occurred in. thermal! streets.due to leaks in sew-; ers washing away the Bandy material on which the greater ■ part of the town stands. One of these has occurred in tho Avenue, near the post office. It is, however, not a serions affair", and repairs should be effected by to-morrow. The other, in Wilson Street, will probably take to repair, At the inquest touching the death of Mrs. Anderson, whose body was found on the South Spit beach on Saturday, the verdict was "accidentally drowned." Considerable satisfaction' is felt by the majority of Aramoho residents at the end of the long-standing dispute' over that suburb's self-government, and the gazetting of its amalgamation with Wanganui will probably be followed promptly by the necessary adjustments.
