VOLUNTEER COMPANY AND THE AUTHORITIES. (By TolceriDh— Press Aisociation.l ' Dunedln, April 17. At the range on Saturday, on the occasion of the firing for the Ladies' Challenge Shield, the North Dunedin Rifles, who had entered a team for the match, were notified that the officer commanding the district had issued instructions to the effect that the company would, not be allowed to shoot under any consideration whatsoever. Last year the company had a lengthy controversy with the military authorities over the election of a .lieutenant, and it was understood that it had disbanded.
