WRESTLING NOTES.

SCOTT AND BAIN MEET TO-NIGHT. By a typographical error it was made to appear in Saturday's issuo that the tourney, in which the "star" item will be a contest between Alec Bain, of Scotland, and. It. J. Scott, of New Zealand, was to' take place on Thursday night. As had been advertised for some time past, the tournament, which promises to attract a largo attendance, will take place at the Opera House tonight. Bain, who was Hackenschmidt's late.partner, has already shown in New 'Zealand that he is a wrestler of a. high order. In his recent match..with Scott he was called upon only to display his, defensive abilities, but to-night, when the victory will be awarded for tlio best two out of three falls, his attacking powers will be in evidence. Scott declares that he likes his chance of winning, but admits that the contest will furnish a tough struggle. His reason for inclining to the belief that he will emerge victorious is the fact; that he gained a fall from Bain at Stratford. If, he says, Bain does happen to beat him, 'he will not rest content until he has secured, if possible, a match with the Scottish wrestler in three or in five styles. It is reported that a wrestling match has been arranged to take l place" at Stratford on April 28 between J. Prechner, of England, and L. Robertson, of Stratford, for the 10-stone championship of .New Zealand. Prechmer is a champion iin his class, and] Robertson is a claimant for the lightweight championship of the Dominion. Speaking to a Dominion reporter on Saturday, R. J. Scott stated that he was empowered to make. a match for Prechner with of the West Coast', who is also a for the light-weight championship of New Zealand. Gardiner had informed him that lie wished to wrestle Robertson first, whether Robertson beat Prechner or not. That Gardiner would ultimately meet Prechner, Scott felt certain.
