The Board ,of Control has been advised that the South African cricket team will arrive in Australia in November. The tour will last aboiit four months. * AUCKLAND CHAMPIONSHIP WON ; BY PARNELL. (By TeleEraDli—Press Association.) ■ Auckland, April 17. The cricket season was finished yesterday in fine weather, the concluding games of the- senior grade championship'being played. The matches resulted in wins for Parnell, Grafton, and North Shoeei Parnell has won the senior grade championship. The results follow: — Parnell v. Eden.—Parnell, first innings 170, second 42 for three wickets. Eden.:' First innings 122 (W. B. Smith 48 and Cummings 24). Olliff took five wickets for 45 runs. Parnell won bj 48 runs on tho first innings, a twopoint win. /
Grafton v. University.—Grafton, first innings 216. University, first innings 151 (A. Wallace 54 and Jacobsen 27). D. Hay took three wickets for 18 runs. Grafton won the first innings by 55 rums. '
North Shore v. Ponsonby.—North Shore, first innings 133, second 98 for three wickets (Howden .56, not out, Rail's 20, not out). Ponsonby, first innings 102 (N. Snedden 38). Howden took eight wickets for 41 runs. Ponsonby. second innings 78 for six wickets (Snedden 22, not out). North Shore won by 31 runs on the first in.nings, a two-point win. Y.M£.A. BOYS' CLUB. A social evening to celebrate their winning of the championship cup (given by the Wollington Boys' Cricket League) by the "A" team of the senior grade, was held at the Y.M.C.A. rooms on Saturday evening. The chair was taken by Mr. Walton (president of the Y.M.C.A. Boys' Cricket Club), supported by Dr. Izard (the president of the Boys' Cricket League) and Messrs. Eglin, Hart, Dowland, Dowst, Mathieson, Mears, Smith, Hills, and Adair, and Mr. Dick (representing the Boys' Institute). Supper was served, after which a pianoforte solo was given by Mr. 6. Holloway, and' songs by Mr. Smith, sen., and Master Geo. Baker. Those items were interspersed with toasts and speeches, also cliorus'es. "The Cricket Club-and Champion Team" proposed by Mr. Dowland, and responded to by Messrs. Smith and Mabin (captain), and Mr. Mears (physical convener). Mr. Herbert Scott, captain of the second season's team, also spoke briefly. "Wellington Boys' Cricket League" was proposed by Mr. Mathieson, and responded to by Di Izaril "Kindred Clubs and Socioties" was proposed by Mr. Walton, and responded to by Mr. Dick (Boys' Institute; "The Boys' Department" was proposed by Mr. Hart, and responded to by Messrs. Eglin and Hills. "Our Boys' Parents" was proposed by Mr. Adair, and responded to bv Mr. Smith, sen. The senior bovs' "A" team have won the cup three years in succession, and the Bovs' Department now retain the League Cud.
