" Various apph'cations were considered from members of the publiq service who were anxious to joia as contributors to the fund and theso were .sanctioned by n the board on condition that the rails for .the time that has expired since Juno 30, 1903, tosether with the fines imposed by tho 'regulations, were paid. ; The secretary reported to .the board the retirement of Colonel It. J. Collins, I.S.O.y.owing to his promotion to the position of■ controller and audito'r-gen-a resolution was passed .by the board-acknowledging the efficient services rendered by •.Colonel Collins while a member of • the hoard. ■-. &rufcineers' wero appointed by tho board for the election to bo held oii May 31, 1910, of a member of tho police to represent that force on tho board. This was necessary owing to the amalgamation of tho Police Provident Fund with._thc Public . Service Superannuation ■ Fund under tho Amendment Act' of last session.

Various schedules of retiring allowances, rnfunds of contributions, and allowances to widows and children were passed by tho board.
