[' Auckland, Judge M'Connick; South Auckland, Judge Holland; Bay of Plenty, (' Judge Browne; Gisborne, Judge Jones; ■ Wanganui, Judge, Eawson; Wellington and Hawke's bay, Judge Gilfedder. . '. In addition four-commissioners of the - court will be appointed—three in the ' North and one (Mr. Bishop, S.JI.) in the :l South. The commissioners will relieve the judges of much routine work. The Government has decided to-reduce ■ the'number of Maori Land Boards to sis, and extensive changes, will be made in ' the boundaries. .

'Ihe elevation of Judge Holland to the Native Land Court Bench will leave vacant the position of registrar in the Auckland Native Land Court office. Mr. Bowler, chief clerk at the head office, succc-eds Judge Holliuid as president of the Waikato and Manir.poto Boards. Mr. E. P. Earle, of. the Auckland office, becomes registrar there. Mr. Fisher (Un-der-Socrctary) returns to the presidency of the Aotea and Aiaroa Boards, and Mr. J. B. Jack, Native reserves agt-ni, New Plymouth, succeeds him. .Messrs. Bowler and Jack have been appointed commissioners; alsu Mr. H. Cart regisf trar at Gisborne.

The Government is making provision for the. necessary funds to «.ecuto surveys and for the purchase of Native lands. The Purchase Board holds s meeting on April 14 to consider offers foi purchase by the Crown. It is expected that a period of great activity in Natire land operations all along the line will ensue. . ■ ■ ' ' - ,
