The Spithead.left New-York on January 7, and experienced strong north-east winds and heavy seas for seven days, thence fine weather, until arrival at St. Vincent on January 22. Here the vessel took in a supply'of bunker coal, and resumed nor voyage on the following day. Pine weather prevailed until February 9, when a heavy southerly, gale and huge seas were encountered for five days.. Tho steamer rolled and laboured very heavily, and shipped seas- fore- and aft, but escaped damage. Tho weather moderated on February 15, and fine conditions accompanied the steamer, till Fobrnary 20.. On the following.'day, however, the weather again> became boisterous, strong westerly winds and heavy. beam seas being met with. Fremantle was reached on March 7, and as the vessel was unable'to obtain a supply of bunker coal, owing to the recent coal strike, she. proceeded to Albany, which port was.entered on March 11. Hero the Spithead filled her bunkers, and took nor departure for Melbourne;' on March 12, arriving at the latter port on March 18. Nine days later she sailed for Sydney, where Bhe arrived on March 29, meeting with strong winds and moderate seas on the passage.
