FIRE IN TIMBER YARD.

GREAT DAMAGE. By Tcloerasn—Press Association—Coorrlebt Sydney, April 11. The Edwards Company's large timber yards and mills at Camperdown, a western suburb of Sydney, took fire 'this morning. . The fire was discovered by, a watchman in the feed-room, but before he could summon the brigades it had caught the surrounding timber stacks and sprbad with tremendous rapidity. The whole yard appeared doomed, but the brigades, by good work, managed to cut off and save a portion of the stacks. However, a large part, including valuable machinery, stables, and carts, was destroyed. . . .. _ The watchman, with great difficulty, Succeeded in driving fifteen horses safely out of the stable, after frightening them by using a revolver. The bulk of the timber was stacked only during the past week. The yard covered about a quarter of an acre.
