YACHTING.
PORT NICHOLSON YACHT CLUB. On Saturday afternoon the Port Nicholson Yacht Club held a race for a ciip valued at £6 65., presented by Messrs. Walker and HaD. The wind was blowing hard from \ the north, which necessitated the reefing of some of the yachts. ..... The following are the handicaps:— White Heather (scr.),- Janet (3min.), Viking .(25min.),. Taipare (20min.), Lizzie (20min.), Rawene (20min.), Nanoya (15min.)," and. lolanthe (lOmin.).. .. ... ... The Lizzie and Nanoya did not start, and tho Viking, Rawene, and Taipare gave the xace up. The Janet took the lead, which she held all round the course. The lolanthe came next, followed by the White Heather. The race was won by the Janet, finishing at shr. 46min., with the lolantho finishing about 15 minutes later, and the White Heather last This is the last race on the Port Nicholson Yacht Club's programme.
