EASTBOURNE BOROUGH COUNCIL.
A.meeting pi the Eastbourne Borongh Council was held on Saturday evening there being present: The Mayor (Mr. John. Barr), Councillors Foley, Organ, Robertson, Ross, Sanson and Wills. , It was resolved that final notices should be given for overdue rates, the Town Clerk to tako ■ action forthwith to recover. • ■ Tho Town Clerk was instructed to furnish' an estimate for the construction of a pound. . ■ ■ > Tlie Water-supply" Committee submitted a further interim report. Tho report recommended the acquisition, under the Public Works Act, of an area necessary for, catchment and reservoir purposes. The report was received, and tho committee wore authorised to engage expert assistance in securing further information. , The foreman of works was granted a fortnight's leave of absence.. The Mayor gave notico of motion to increase the foreman's wages. ..' Tho council agreed that the Town Clerk's salary should bo increased to £100 per annum. Accounts amounting to £54 6s. 2d. were passed for payment..
