LIVE STOCK SALES.
Messrs. Dalgoty and Co., Ltd.. report on their sale held at Eketahuna yesterday as follows :-Entries both in sheen and cattlo considerably exceeded advertised entries, and we have to,report a total clearance of sheep under the hammer. Sheep showed an increase in prices, and 'the demand was good throughout the sale. Cattle sold at prices quite up to last week's values. We quote :—Two and fourtooth wethers, to 13s. Bd.; two-tooth ewes, 125., 123. 2d., to 12s. 6d.; four and six-tooth ewes, to 12s. 6d.; ,mixed-agod ewes. ss. 4d., 65., 7s. 2d., to 7s. 7d.; wether lambs. ss. 2d. to 7s. 6d.; "mixed lambs, 7s. 6d.,-75.. lid., to 9s. Id. Cattle: Fat heifers, £4 195.; springing cows, £5 to £5 12s. 6d.; two and a halfyear steers, £4 65.; mixed wcancrs. 19s. 6a. to 305.; empty cows, £3 7s. to M 12s. 6d.; two to two and a half-year heifers, £3 155.; bulls, £1 10s. to £2.
Messrs. Abraham and Williams. Ltd., report as follows:—At Shannon on Friday wo had a largo yarding of sheep, every pen being full. Buyers for forward ewes were not in evidence, but all other lots changed hands at prices on a par with other centres. ■ A fair yarding of cattle sold well, all lots changing, hands. A small yarding of pigs showed a sharp riEe in prices, and the whole yarding was sold under the hammer. Fat sheep (light), 12s. 9d.; woolly ewe lambs, 10s. 6d.; store ewes, 3s. 2d., 4s. 4d., 4s. 7d., to 7s. 2d.; store lambs, ss. lOd. to 6s. 4d.; springing heifers, £5. 2s. 6d.; heifers in calf, £3 95.; springing cows, £4 15s. to £5; fat cows, £4 3s. to £4 12s.- to £5,103.; forward cows, £3 25.. £3 .12s. 6d., to £4; mixed weaners, 31s. to 345.; cows and calves, £4 75.; bulls, 325. 6d. to £2 55.; baconcrs, 335.; porkers, 215., 265,. to 275. 6d.; stores. 16s. to 175.; slips, Bs. 6d.; weaners, 6s. 6d.
- The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agenoy Co., Ltd., report on their Feilding sale as follows:—At Feilding, on Friday, there was a good attendance of buyers, including a number from outside districts. We had a good entry of sheep and cattle, and have to report a good demand for all.classes. All the sheep were quitted at priceß in favour of the ■ vendors, and very few cattle wero turned ,out unsold. Young cattle and. fats were keenly sought after. Wo Quote:—Cull lambs, 3s. 6d. to 3s. lid.; store lambs, 6s. ICd. to 7s. 4d.:ewe lambs, 10s, 3d. to 10s. 9d.: cull ewes, ss. 4d.; storo ewes, Bs. 9d.: good breeding ewes. lis. 9d. to 12s. Mr. Newton King's weekly report la as follows:—At the Haymarkot on Saturday thcro was a- large number of piss penned, and all wore cleared at the, hammer. Slips made 3s. to 4s. 6d.; weaners, ss. to Bs. 6d.; small stores, 10s. to 135.; stores, 16s. to l?s. 6d.;'porkers, 20s. to 225.; horses, £2 10s. to £5 2s. 6d. There was a large quantity of timber offered, which sold at very satisfactory prices. At Douglas on Monday weaners made 20s. 6d.; store cows, £2 58. 6d. to £2 15s. 6d.; forward do., £3 65.; fat do., £4 to £4 55.; lambs, 65." 6d. to 7s. 2d.; culls, do., 3s. 3d. to 3s. lid.: f.m. owes, Bs. 9d.; culls do., 3s. to 4s. 10d.; fat-do, 9s. 3d.; two-tooth wethers: 10s. 6d. to 12s. Bd.; rams, 3 to lgn.- At Stratford on Tuesday there was a big yarding of oattle, including several lines of eighteenmonths steers, and an, especially fine pen of 80 throe, arid a half .to. four-year forward bullocks. . There was a very largo attendance, including■ buyers from as-far south as Palmerston.-North, the. latter securing 'most of the young steers. ' Tendors' reserves for tho big bullocks were above tho ideas of the buyers' value, and they were passed in at £6 Is.; all other classes of cattle were keenly competed for, and realised good.. prices. Mixed weaners made £1 Is. to. £1 10s.; wcaner heifers, 329. to 365.; 'fifteen-months heifers, £2 13s. to £2 145.; oightccn-months steers, £3 to £3 45.; two to two and a halfyear steer 3, £3 10s: to £3 10s. 6d.; twovand a half to three-year steers, £4 ss.
