ELECTRICAL ENGINEER'S REPORT Mr. Stuart Richardson, M-I-' engineer and manager of .the. Uity Electric Lighting Department, reports that the revenue of the Electric Light*, inc. Department .for the: month-of February, 1910, amounted to £2488, a decrease of £144 as compared with the corresponding month in; the previous vear. The working.'expenses for: the same period amounted to £1958, or £50 more than in 1909.,, the totals to date, it will be seen that the yross revenuo for tho eleven months, amounts. to £41,669, .an advance; of £228 on tho previous year; lho total working: expenses to date amount ; to £24,169, 0r~£1328 more thau last year, °Tho' following are the principal , in* creases in . expenditure:—Fuel,. £479; repairs-and maintenance of _publio lighting • (charged last, year to district fund), £776;; printing • and stationery, £68; repairs and maintenance of overhead lines, meters, and transformers, £556 Tinder various ■' other headings decreases in' expenditure have been effected amounting to over £500. -Aitot providing for proportion of interest, , sinking fund, and depreciation charges, ! the net result to date is a credit balanca of £2162, as compared with i44zz last A subjoined statement shows that 114,456 units were., sold for private lighting, power, and; heating, and public lighting during tho month of February, the number in February, 1909, being 137,417, a; decrease'. of 22 961. The total number of consumers was 8903, as compared with 8188- in February, 1909, an' increase of -' 720.
