Gd. to £3 55.; empty heifers, £2 Is. (By ( Telegraph.~Press Association.) Christchurch, April 6. There wag'a much larger attendance of buyers, farmers and others interested at the weekly stock sale at Addington this afternoon, fine weather probably having something to do with this-state, of affairs. The entry of all classes of stock was a largo one, particularly so in the fat lamb 'section, though store sheep showed a I slight decrease in numbers penned. Taking it all round, sales were certainly brisker than at the, previous week's market, tho advance in fat lambs especially being pronounced. Both butchers and export buyers were operating freely, and most lots changed hands at very satisfactory prices. . .

Thero was a distinct falling-off in numbers of store • sheep.i yarded as compared with recent sales, but a fairly full entry was penned. All classes of stores came forward, but ewes and wethers formed the bulk of the yarding.', A slight decline in the quality of this, class of. stock could be noticed, some pens of inferior, stores being offered. The demand, however, was keen, especially for first-quality sorts, and

there wore. comparatively few- lines passed in. Nearly all ewes changed hands at prices about on a par with • last week's rates. ( Wethers showed a slight advance. The range of prices was: Six to eighttooth ewes, 6d. to 165.; forward wethf ©rs, 13s. 3d. to 155.; others. Us. 3d. to 135.; best rape lambs, lis. to 12s. 9d.; others, 6s. 6d. to l)s. 6d. Thore was again a large yarding of fat Gheep, quite up to the standard of the past few sales, and the demand was keen, export buyers doing most of the business.. The range of prices was: Prime wethers, 16s. 3d. to 19n. 5d.; extra to 2Cs. 9d.; others, 13s. 4d. to 165.; prime ewes, 13s. 6d. to 17s. 6d.; others, 10s. 6d.v to '■ 13s/ •, '

The yarding of fat lambs was a record one, more than doubling that; of . last week. The bulk of those penned were of good quality sorts, some beipg particularly primo, though some again came l under the heading of forward stores. The sale opened very; briskly with a general advance in prices, probably to be accounted for by tho fact that export buyers were operating very freely, quite eclipsing the efforts of the generality of buyers to secure stock. When the wants of tho exporters were satisfied, however, a slight decline in prices took place, and the market fell off somewhat, though even then the prices remained on an average well up to, if not a little above,' last week's rates. The range of prices was from 12s. 6d. to 18s. IQd. Thsre were 14,300 lambs penned.

The entry of fat cattle ; totalled 261 head, principally dealers' lines, farmers' being almost unrepresented. The quality of the entries penned was above that of last week's entry. The demand at the opening of tho' sale was very quiet, aiid \ a couple of races were passed in. An improvement then set in, and, after opening at rather low rates, the sales finished up with prices on a par with those obtained at the previous sale. The ranse of prices was from 18s. to 225. per 1001b., according to. quality. Steers fetched £6 7s. 6d. to £10, and an extra-quality one went to £13 155.; heifers, £5 ss. to £8 10s.; and dry cows, £5 to £7 10s. . i . . Only a small entry, of fat calves was penned, and salc3 were made at prices ranging from 4s. 6'l. to £2 17s. 6d..

There was a small yarding of store cattle, which included some useful stock, for -which there was a free -demand. Fifteen to eighteen-months sorts fetched £2 to £2 Bs.; two-year-old steers, £4 Is.; two-year-old hoifers, £3 10s. to £4 Is.; three-year-old steers, £5 7s. Gd. to £5 18s.; three-year hoifers, £4 ss. to £5 Bs.; and dry; cows, £1 ss. to ,£4.

A large number of dairy cows were penned, and elicited good competition, being oleared at prices ranging from £3 10s. to ■£10. , i,A ,very large yarding of pigs was offered, and proved a little top much for the demand, prices suffering in .consequence. Choppers fetched to 705.; heavy baconera, 475. 6d. to 535.; lighter sorts, 38s. to 155.; equal to 3Jd. to 33d. per lb.; largo" porkers made 30s. to 355.; smaller, 255. to 285., equivalent to Hd. per lb. An ordinary yarding of stores met with a weak demand. ■ The range of prices was; Medium, 225. to 265.; smaller, 14s. to 18s.; weaners, ss. to Ba. Dunedin, April 6. At Burnside stock market 157 head of fat cattlc were yarded, mostly light-weights of fair to medium quality. Competition, was spirited, and last week's prices were maintained. Prime heavy wethers sold at prices about equal to last' week's rates, while medium wethers and ewes were 6d. to Is. per head lower, Best: wothers, 15s. 6d. to 18s. 6d.; a few extra to 235. 6d.; medium, 12s. to' 145.; best ewes,.
