GIVER AND TAKER. RESIGNATION OP TWO SENATORS. By Telesraph—Press Association—Copyrickt New York, April 5. Senator Conger has resigned his esat in the New York State Senate, thus foreatalling an inquiry into his conduct in connection with the charge of bribery brought against Senator Jotham P. AlJds, who also recently resigned his Senatorsnip.
[Both the Senators aro Republicans. According to the Senate's finding, Conger gave the bribe (JS2OO) and AJlds took it. Conger gave it on the understanding that Allds ivould cause the suppression of a bridge-building Bill, the restrictions in wKich were - deemed troublesome to Conger's bridge-building companies. Allds took the money, bnt the Bill ultimately passed. Conger revealed Allds's alleged duplicity, and the facts then came to light.]
