FRENCH STRIKES.
EFFORTS TO GET STEAMERS AWAY. By Telegraph—Press Association—Cory rich t. . . (Rec. April 7, 1.10 a.m.) Paris, April 6. In connection with the strike of naval reservists at Marseilles, if. Cheron, UnderSecretary of the Navy, boarded the various mail boats in Marseilles-. and exhorted the crews not to abandon the vessels. Two mail steamers then sailed.
The Governmont is arranging that destroyers shall .carry the Tunis and Algiers mails, Efforts are being made, to secure the departure of the steamer Caledouion for Australia to-day. ■ The Compagiiie-Transatlantique' i has, however, ceased to issue tickets to intending passengers. STRIKE SPREADS TO TOULON, Paris, April 5. The strike of naval reservists has spread fr<Dw Marseilles to Toulon.
