CURIOUS STONES.
MR, WRAGGE REPLIES TO ME. HAMILTON. ' J i! ' ! (By TeleeraDh.—Special Correspondent.) Auckland, April 6. Mr. Clement Wragge, when seen in connection with the remarks of Mr. A. Hamilton, Curator of the Dominion ' Museum, in reference to the curious stones in the north, said:, .., , . "While I respect Mr. Hamilton's scientific knowledge, I consider he has gone beyond the bounds of fair criticism when he endeavours to discredit my discoveries because lie has not seen the rocks and markings on which I based niy_ theory ■ that they constitute a connecting-link with prehistoric man. Ohaeawai, where Mr. Hamilton made his investigations, ij at least thirty miles distant from ths . spot where I made iny discoveries, and Mr. Hamilton has not been there." . Mr. Wragge states that all he asked for was fair play,, and that while Mr. , Hamilton's observation on his recent visit north were highly interesting, they could not.controvert his (Jlr. Wragge's) arguments.
