JOTTINGS FROM WANGANUI.
(By Telegraph—Special Correspondent.) , Wanganui, April i. . The Wanganui Education Board has been notified that the following grants have been made for special residences:— Beaconsficld (additions), £200; Mangaonoho now residence), .£425; Makotuku (additions), Eiverlea (additions), «£75.
The local amateur dramatic club is staging "Hans the Boatman" to-night,' and though the weather is anything bnt favourable, there is a large attendance at the Opera House.
Steady rain set in last night, and has continued all day. ■
Though this time last year farmers were complaining that feed was scarce, the cry now is that it is too plentiful, and they cannot get enough stock to keep it down. •
The Egmont-Wanganui Hunt Club will open the season on April 23 with a run over Mr. W. Bremer's property, Waihou, Waitotara.
