Sedgwiok, who 13 visiting the Dominion with tho object of ascertaining if arrangements can bo made to place lads from the Home manufacturing districts on the land in New Zealand, stated at Auokland that emigration seemed tho only remedy for the'present disorganised state of the unskilled labour market in England, and tho reeultant decline in wages, due to the largo number of men, women, boys, and girls seeking any situation that might be open. It is not proposed to bring any but strong, healthy, and willing boys to the Dominion. TKey, would, vary in age from 10 to 21.yoars, and bo quite capable of taking up any kind of work. There are so many lade offering for' Situations at Home that , employers are-enabled to have a boy for a low hours in the day or week, just as it suits his business. The promoters of tho emigration scheme hope to- be able to make arrangements' whereby some experimental parties can be placed for the purpose of finding out what type and aces will prove most suitable to the various descriptions of farm work in New Zealand. •
