IMPORTS AND EXPORTS.
Wellington exports, for the Quarter ended March 31,1910, show a considerable increaso in , value on the figures for the corresponding quarter last year. The value for tho March quarter, 1910. was £2,034,488, as compared with £1,674,601 for tho March Quarter, 1909. On tho othpr uand, tne value of the imports for the Quarter show a marked decrease This is mainly due to the fact that £222,000 more specie was im- , ported in : 1909 . than in 1910. The total value of imports for the quarter just ended was £995,813, and for the March quarter. 1909, the value was £1,257,705. A rather noteworthy point in connection with the, figures is that tho imports from the United Kingdom show a decrease of £08,169 this year, whereas the value •of the imports from the East Coast of the United States in March quarter, 1910, ; was £3,318 greater than. the same quarter in 1909, and tho value of tho fprcign-mado goods imported for the 1909 quarter waa £2815 greater than the 1909 Quarter.
