Owing'to the inconvenience caused to other members of the congregation by the incessant , and noisy coughing during the parade services, the soldiers of Woolwich Garrison are asked by the Brigadier-Gen-eral to cough as quietly as possible. Men who have such a bad cold as to .necessitate'' incessant coughing are advised-to "report sick." ~ •A scheme for the electrification of the railways in the Isle of I?ight, or, alternatively, the construction of light railways of "electric tramways, has been considered by representatives of public authorities on the island. As the railway companies are doubtful whether electrica'l working would succeed with mixed traffic, hofyever, the conference has recommended the- County Council, whoso financial support was desired, to take no action with regard to the scheme.
