' ' '",■.'■' ■•..'■• EARTHQUAKE' IN CHRISTCHURCH. '•.'..• .Christchurch,, MaxiJiSO.'. , An earthquake occurred in Christchurch last night, shortly after 8.15. The record taken , by the seismometer at , local magnetic observatory was devehjped 'this - morning, and it shows that two very slight shocks were registered. The first lasted about: thirty seconds, beginning at 18.4 minutes past' eight and ending 'at 18.9 minutes past eight. The second shock lasted'about 36 seconds, beginning at 19.6 minutes'past eight and ending at 2(i.2 minutes . past eight. .The first, shock seemed to have had the stronger motion $ the two. , V '■. i FROZEN MEAT TRADE. : ; . :• .Christchurch, March 30. , ..A meeting of representatives of.the New Zealand frozen meat companies was held this afternoon in the office of the Christchurch Heat Company to consider various representations ' made by the •' re-. cent conference,- and also ■ the proposals submitted by Mr. W.
