After discharge of part cargo.at the northern port, she comes on to Wellington, and is duo here about April 1. PINNACLE ROOK IN HANUKATJ HAEBOUE. A notice in this week's Gaietto states that a pinnacle-rock, with only 9in. of water over it at L.W.S., exists in the Waiuku Channel. From it Karaka Point bears N. 18dog. E (magnetic) 400 ft. This pinnacle is part of a patch of rock about 40ft. in diameter, with a depth ranging from 4ft. to 10ft. at low water. A black buoy has been placed just outside the pinnacle, and vessels entering the channel should keep to the starboard side of the buoy. Mr. M. M'Murrick has" joined the Moana as sixth engineer in placo of Mr. W. W. Houghton. Mr. T. V. Hill, acting chief officer of the Waipori, has changed places with Mr. J. Ryan, second officer of the Monowai. Mr. E. T. Free, fourth officer' of the Moana, transferred to the Manuka on Thursday, and Mr. A. J. Naylor joined the Moana in his place. Mr. it. P. Oafßn, late purser of the Hauroto in the Wellington-Rarotonga service, has now recovered from hiß attack of dengue fever, and he left Dunedin for Auokland yesterday by the Hauroto. Shortly after daybreak yesterday morning the Scales chartered steamer Olan Ross was taken clear of King's Wharf and started on her journey for Dunkirk and London. An excursion trip from Ohristchuxch to Akaroa and back will' be made by the Mararoa on Easter Monday.. The" Maori makes a trip from Wellington to Pictop and back. On Thursday the Government training ship Amokura arrived at Bluff, where she remains until after the Easter, holidays.
