. (By Telcgraph.—Pross Association.] ■ Christchurch, March 16. : At Addington yards yesterday there was i large entry oi all classes of stock arid food attendance. Store sheep mot with a food sale'. Fat lambs were firm, tegs showng a rise.' Fat cattle were without shange and pigs were dull of sale.- Fat iheep' showed a rise in price. Store cattle vere dull of salo and dairy cows were .in noderato demand. The yarding of store iheep was not quite, as large as the pre-; rious week, and the offerings were mostly )f • backward sorts. There was a keener lemand for ewes, and they sold at Is. per lead advance! while rape iambs were down i similar amount. There, was no change n regard to wethers. Two-tooth ewes nade 14s. to 16s. 6d.; four-tooths, 13s. to 75.; and sound mouthed, 10s. 9d. to 155.; orward'wethers .made. 13s. to 145.; others, Is. lid. to lis. 6d.; forward lambs, lis.: ,o 12s. 2d.; others, 7s. Bd. to 10s. 6d. There ,vas again a' large yarding of fat lambs, stalling 8149 head,, and including some £ood lineß of legs, but .there was also a jroportion of - inferior and unfinished ambs. There was a keen demand for all ,vell-finished lots, and tegs showed an ad-rahce.-of about sd. to 6d- per head, and vere firm at last week's rates. There was, i- fairly large yarding of fat sheep, the' greater portion beiiig ewes. There was a rood demand for all descriptions, and ".'ices were firmer all round. Range of nines was:—Prime wethers,'lss. 3d. to 18s. :d.; lighter,-139.. 3d. to 155.; prime ewes, ,2s. 6d. to-'l6s. lid.;.others, 10s 6d. to 125.; cnerino ewes, Bs. id; , to Bs. 7d. Entry of /fat- cattle totalled 280 head, .vhich were mostly sent, in by dealers. Jeifer beef was in' rather better demand, Dut; on tlic whole,. there was little or.no change in values. Steers realised £6 lYs. I id.- to £11 55.; heifers; £5 ss. to £7 17s. 6d. [ md cows, £4 2s. to £8:155., equal to 19s. id. to 225. 6d. for prime, 18s. to 19s. for I aiedium, and 15s. 6d. to 17s. 6d. for cow ind inferior per 1001b. Veal calves made is. 6d. to 525., and up to £3 16s. for extra arge. There was a large entry of store cattle, wiiiuh mostly met with a slow sale; 18-months-old sorts made 20s. to 335., and taree-year-old steers sold up to £5 155.; iairy cowb m&dc £3 Bs. to £i) 15s. There was a large entry of pigs, and. they mot with aull sale throughout, tiaconers brought 445. to 525., equal to 3Jd. to 33d. per lb.; porkers, 325. to 435., equal to 4id. to 4Jd. per lb.; largo stores; 255: to J2s.; smaller, lis. to IBs.; and weaners, 6s. to-lis. 6d. A line of 50 good stores from Banna Bros, Southbridge, changcd hands at ais. ■
Dunodin, March 16. ■ Burnsidc stock market:—fat cattle—2oo head yarded, consisting principally of medium to good bullocks and heifers, with ,a fair proportion of prime and extra prime bullocks, and a few pens of medium cows and heifers. Best bullocks, £9 to £10; extra to £10 12a. 6d.; medium, to.£B 10s.; lighter, £6 ss. to £7 .7s. od.; best cows and heifers, to £6 10s.; others, £4 10s. to £5 53. • Fat sheep—3769 penned, only a small proportion being prime quality. The bulk of the yarding consisted of medium and inferior ewes, which showed a decline of Is. to Is. 6d. on last week's rates. Good wethers sold at about last week's rates, but medium wethers went back about 6d. per head. Prime wethers made up to 16s. 'Jd • a few extra to 19s. 3d.; good, to 155.; medium, 12s. 6d. to, 13s. 6d.; extra prime ewes to 165.; medium, 10s. to 125.; inferior, ss. to 9s. Fat lambs—22sß penned, a very large proportion of which were secondcliiss or inferior. Bidding was good for ill prime lambs, but pricjs. were scarcely as good as last week. Kecond-class and inferior sorts dropped fully Is. to Is. 6d. per head, best, to 14s. 9d.; medium, to 10s. 6d ; inferior, 7s. to 9s. Pigs-About <160 were penned, these selling at last week s rates. Suckers, ss. to 95.; slips, 10b. to 12s. 6d.- stores, 17s. 6d. to 205.; porkers,' 2/s. 6d. to 325.; light baconcrs, 355. to 385.; heavy baconcrs, to 455.
Messrs. Dalgety and Co., Ltd., report on their. Waikaiia-e sale, lield yesterday, as follows:—A good entry of both sheep aud cattle came forward, and wore submitted to a fair attendance of buyers. Sheep were not so keenly competed for, but cattle sold 'well. With the excoption of two pairs of old owes, we quitted the whole of our yarding at -the following rates:—Medium store lainbs, ss. Id.; good woolly wether lambs, to 95.; aged ewes, ss. to ss. 8(1.; better sorts, to 95.; cull ewes, 25.; liomney rams, 155.. £1 Is., to £2 Is.; aged cows, low condition, £1 Is.; weaner calves, to £t lis.; forward w)W6, £4 Is.; , fat heifers, £4 10s.; fat cows, £4 15s.

Messrs. Abraham and "Williams, Ltd., report on their Mastcrton stock sale, held yesterday, as follows: —"An extra heavy yarding of sheep, consisting principally of ewes, was submitted. Owing to most, of the ewe buyers having filled their requirements for this season, we had difficulty 1 in obtaining the prices that have been lately ruling for breeding ewes, and we have to report a fall in prices. Young ewes and wethers, however, met with animated competition and valines were. fully sustained. In cattle an average yarding, consisting principally of useful sorts of steers and bullocks, was submitted, and bidding was not animated, still we quitted all lots at full rates before the close of the sale.
