In addition to this there are members', subscriptions, 'amounting' to .£661, which have been included in the statement. The expenditure was J!lsot 145.. ' The National Sheep Breeders , ' Association, wrote stating that the eleventh international conference would bo held in Liverpool on June 20 next, when a paper would be. sent by Mr. Alfred'Marisell on the desirability or otherwise of the oiling and colouring of show sheep, or of any foreign substance being usecf in the preparation of sheep for:exhibition. It was' decided to discuss the subject of the letter at the next meeting! Mr. J. Stuckey was appointed .to - act . as the association's at the conference. The Ground, Committee reported as follows:—It had been decided to instruct the caretaker to' commence the removal of the sheep-pens to the Solway Grounds at once.' It had also been decided that the sub-committee appointed to wait on the Railway authorities."with reference to-the siding at -Sqlway, , - be requested to''.do so. as soon as possible; that a special meeting of the Ground Committee-be called to •?«* at Solway on March 19 at 10 a.m. -. Ihe Finance Committee reported as fpllows:—lt had been' resolved that it be a"' recommendation-'to the incoming beneral-: Committee to take step's to reduce the:working expenses in connection with the ram fair, aud that the subcommittee - be instructed to complete the sale of. the. old grounds. - "Mr,. O. ,C. ■ Cooper, in • moving ; the adoption of the Finance Committee's report, said that, the "committee had gone very carefully info the figures of the late show, and they calculated that thoy had cpme out about the same as for the previous year. The Solway stock fair had been a grand success, over ,£678 being realised, and the liberal response to the association's appeal was a most gratifying feature. It was unanimously resolvedto thank Mr. W. B.: Allen, who first sug-gested-holding -for his support and donations. Votes of thanks were also passed to the auctioneers for their assistance in. selling the stock free of charge at the fair. ■....'-.'
