FOOTBALL.
T.M.C.A. CLUB. seventh annual meeting of tho Y.M.C.A. Association Football Club was held in the Y.M.C.A. rooms last evening, Mr. H. N. Holmes' presiding. Tlicro was a good attendance of members.
Ihe annual repoz-t stated that last season was the most successful since tho organisation of the club, and members had experienced somewhat bad fortune in not winning more championships,, tho- only team securing a championship being tho junior first division A team. Nine teams were entered in the various grades, thus making the club the largest Association club in tho Southern Hemisphere. ■ Tho senior first division team, with llr. Gibson as captain, did well, being runners-up both in tlio League championship and tho Chanty Cup, only losing both in tho final play-off. They played .'altogether 17 matches, winning 11, drawing 4, and losing 2. Total number of goals for 42, and against 2-1. Tho senior second division team, with Mr. Arthur, Macklin as captain, also did very well. They played 14 matches, winning 8, drawing 2, and , losing 3. Total number of goals for 46, aiul against 24. This team was level with two other teams for second place. The junior first division . A team, with Mr.. Cecil Coates as captain, was the only team to bring a championship to tho Y.M.C.A., and. were also runners-up in tho Charity. Cup. They played 15 matches, winning 11, drawing. 2; and losing 2. Total number of goals for 48, against 17. They were only defeated once in the League championship,' and that by the B team, and in the final for the Charity Cup by Wadestown, in each caso by tho odd goal. Tho junior first division B team, with Mr. Jack Lennox as captain, is to bo congratulated on tho way they kept together and tho good fights they put up. They played 14 matches, winning 3, drawing 2, and losing 9. Total number of goals for 17, against 36. They were the only team to beat the A team in the Leaguo championship". The junior second division A team were, runners-up in the championship and Charity Cup competition, scoring 107 goals against 13. . .They, hold the New Zealand record for one match, scoring 23 goals to 1. The; club was well represented in the representative team by Messrs. R. Gibson, •W. Gibson, and-E. E. Timpcrley. Regret was expressed at the departure of Messrs. Wilby.'and Hooson, and also of Mr. J. H. Greenwood, physical director. He had taken a great interest in-the'vari-ous teams, and also allowed the club to use the gymnasium for training purposes. The -balance-sheet showed a small credit balance. ! .
The report and' balance-sheet were adopted on the motion, of' the chairman, seconded by Mr. W. L. Witeon. The following officers were elected:— President, Mr. J. G. W. Aitken; vice-, presidents, Messrs. W. T. Willii!ms,*J. M. A. Ilott,-H.'O:; Osborne, G. Hunt, and Munckton; secretary, Mr. W. G. Hughes (re-elected); treasurer, Mr. W. L. Wilson; "club captain, Mr. E. E. Timperley; delegates to the Wellington Football Association, Messrs. Hughes, Timpcrley, and R. Gibson; management committee; the club officers, with tho captains of each team, and Messrs. W. Elford, Coates, and Schofield;. auditors, Messrs. Schofield and Cofites; selection committees—senior team, Messrs. J. Schofield, Phillips, W. R. Kingwell, and R. Gibson; junior, A. J. Macklin, Coates, G.' Wilkms,. and W. Elford; third-class, E. Phillips, W. L. Wilson. O. Hamerton, W. Urquharl:, and H.M'Girr. It was stated at the meeting that out of the six championship grades the club won one, and wore runners-up in tho other five. Tho Club commence practice to-day at Miraniar. The usual votes of thanks to retiring officers concluded the meeting. I ' LETTER-CARRIERS' CLUB. At the annual meeting of the Letter-Car-riers' Association Football Club the follow-, ing office-bearers were elected: Patron, Mr. D. Roliertson;,president; Mr. G. B. Dull; -vice-presidents, Messrs. Bale; ' captain, "Mr. H. --L. -Eoulston;-deputy-captain, Mr. H. V. Norris; management .'committee, Messrs. Lawrence, Stokes, Clancey, Quilter, Norris, ..Soulston, and Miller; delegates. to W.F.A.,. Messrs. IT. Norris and. A. M. Miller; so- , lection committee, Messrs. Norris, ltoulstoil, and Miller. It was decided to enter a second-grade senior team in this year's competitions.. > :
