Music lovers aiid curiosity lovers will alike "find pleasure, in. .the banjo manipulations of 'Mr. ' Franco " Piper", : while- the "playlet presented by.; Mr v .and Mrs. Bob Fit%simmo'ns, and the songs of Mrs. Fitzsimmons are a strong attraction. Then there are ,fhe lively humorous contributions of Messrs. Vaude and Verne, and Mr. Bluett. This evening, in addition,, a friendly, boxing exhibition of three rounds will be given by, Bob Fitzsimmons and Henry Sandow, which will take the place~"of' : the-'fight" pictures at the end of the usual , vaudeville programme. • THEATRE ROYAL. • The marionettes, the . slack wire' art | .ist,- and other: novelties and,, humorists al the Theatre Royal presented their attractive entertainment .to 'another delighted'.audience last evening. The Besses o' th' Barn returns' to Australasia with .an hereditary reputation as one of the finest —if not the best—brass bands.extant. When'it is remembered, that'ii band consisting of 33 performers and a conductor can; with only six different brass instru-' ments and drums, produce musical effects in gradation and colouring from - the softest pianissimo up ,to ,the-Brash of fortissimo, : including the • simpla harmonies of a.popular. hymn and the weird grandeur of Wagner's musical myth&Jogy, it can be readily understood that such results' would give the performers worldwide reputation. Full particulars respecting prices,, opening of plans, and booking of seats by post, will be announced in a later issue.

ANDREW BLACK CONCERTS. As the days pass by they bring nearer the approaching conceits on Monday and Tuesday nights next in the Opera House. Commenting on the ■ concert given in Nelson last Tuesday night, the "Colonist" says:—"Mr. Black will, wo imagine, hava derivod very considerable pleasure from the warmth -and enthusiasm of his reception on this his second visit to Nelson, for it was evident from the bursts of applause that greeted his every appearance that he has established himself as a very warm favourite with audionces in Nelson. He was compelled to grant an encore for each of his numbers, and even a double encore was insisted on before the clamorous hearers, would allow him to finally leave the stage. An excellent company supports Mr. Black. Herr Anton Tschaikov is a violinist with wonderful technique, who produces a splendid clear, ringing tone.' Miss Hey Cross possesses a fine contralto voice, and sings artistioally and with' a wealth of expression." ■ Already there is a brisk demand for .seats, which may be reserved at the Dresden.
