DAIRY SHOW AND WORKERS,
TWO MEETINGS. ' ' (By Tolegraph.-Special Correspondent.) Palmerston, March 3. A meeting, of delegates from dairy companies was held at Palmerston to-day, there being representatives-from M'airarapa, Forty-milo Bush,-: Norsewood, Dannevir'.vo, and Manawatu present. Over 30 factories were thus accounted for. Mr. A. IJ.'Forlane, chairman of the National Dairy Association, presided, and the business of the meeting was to consider the demands of the Dairy Union of Workers. After discussion, a committee was set up to take 'any steps, deemed necessary on tho matter.
A meeting of the National Dairy Show Committee was also held this afternoon. Present:—Major Dunk (chairman), and Messrs. M'C'rea, Balsillie, Batchelar, Harkness, Lancaster, M'Kenzie, MTlae, Gibbons, Hodder, Johnston, and Sutherland. The North Island Poultry Association wrote, slating that a permit would be issued for the poultrv section of the show in June next. The' Minister for Agriculture intimated that an expert from , the Department would be at tho service of the association to judge the fruit, at which - offer much satisfaction was -expressed. It was decided to issue season tickets, entitling th'e holder to ■eight admissions for ss. After somo discussion it was resolved to hold the usual smoke concert, and a sub-com-mittee was appointed to make all arrangements in connection' with it. Tho report F of the sub-committee appointed somo. time ago to go' into the question of holding, a combined demonstration of milking machines at'the dairy, show was adopted. This report recommended, that such a .demonstration'be-held, and the committee was authorised' to proceed with the arrangement's.
