Senator Gallinger has introduced in Congress a Bill to incorporate the Rockefeller Foundation in the United States federal district of Columbia. Ho explained that Mr. Rockefeller has already given away fifty-two million dollars (■£10,400,000), and seeks a method of disposing of his fortune for the benefit of mankind. The Foundation's aim was the promotion of.the well-being of the people of the United States" and its possessions abroad, the dissemination of knowledge, and the relief of suffering.
[Largo donations have been made by Mr. John D. Rockefeller to education, Baptist Church undertakings, and other movements. He is said to be worth fifty millions. He is aged 70.] ANOTHER SORT OF MILLIONAIRE. CONTENT WITH FOUR, AND MEANS TO ENJOY THEM. (Rec. March 3, 9.45 p.m.) New York, March 3. The cotton speculator, Mr. James Patten, has amassed ,£4,000,000. He J announces: "I have made my pile, and I intend to enjoy it." Mr. Bartlett and. Mr. George Patten, who have made four millions and one million respectively, are also retiring from the Patten brokerage firm.
