"PETER PAN."

* '. ■■•-■•."• TO BE SEEN, HERE.' AT EASTEK. -.'.-(' —~"~' Wellington playgoers will be delighted. t-> learn that Mr. Bert. Royle, representative for Mr. J.. C. Williamson, has been. advised that a special company, is being organised in Sydney to tour the . Dominion with J. M. Barrie's exquisite fantasy 'Teter Pan, or the Boy Who / Wouldn't Grow Up." This is one of f those pantomime fairy tales which, Mr. .' Barrie, with his delightful, fancy,', and •. rare literary insight has' idealised into ; . a thing of beauty. The play was an enormous success when it was first pro- V\

duced in London about five or six yeara ago, and so deep was the sensation it created in America that Miss Mauds Adams has been playing it for the last: four or five seasons. Mri Barrie's play wns produced in Australia some two years ago with Miss Tittel Brune as Peter and Mr. Loring Fernie as Captain Hook, but it was never brought to New Zealand though it was wanted badly enough, as we had not seen any of Barrie's plays since that clever comedy "The Admirable Crichton." On this occasion -Peter will be impersonated by Miss Elizabeth Parker, 'a young actress new to New Zealand, who is said to embody the elfin manners essential for the Puck-like rolo. Mr. Thomas Kingston, who was here so-recently with' Tha Flag Lieutenant" will impersonate th« piratical Cnptdn Hook, who, with Ma ship and crew, are so ignominionsly captured by the children led on by the redoubtable Peter. ■ ' "Peter Pan" is a' wonderful play foi tho children.- Not only does it embody tho pictures of their wildly fantastical dreams, but there is an appealing sentiment running through the play which makes a subtle appeal to young and old. "Peter Pan" is to be staged at the Opera House on Saturday, March 26— thrco weeks from to-morrow.
