GROCERS' PICNIC AND SPORTS.

The annual spoits of the Wellington Grocers' Union aro to be held at Newtown Park to-morrow afternoon, and on the following Wednesday the annual , picnic of the union is to be hehj at Day's Bay. The sports races will bo for employees only, but the public are invited to bo present, and also to take part in the picnic. About ,£'2s in cash prizes and three cups will bo competed for at the sports. A solid silver cup, value £lo 155., lias been presented by Messrs. Willox and Co., of Glasgow; Messrs. Keiler and Co., marmalade manufacturers, have presented a cup, valued at ,£lO 10s.; and Messrs. J. B. M'Ewan and Co. have given a ,cup, valued at M ss. The employers have assisted largely in helping the funds and prize lists.
