The vessel has been built to tho order of the India Line, Ltd., ot Liverpool, and is to be the largest member of the Beat. She is to enpage in the Austra- ' lian-London trade, and has been built to Lloyds' highest class, strengthened, spar deck rule, with cellular double bottom right fore and aft, and when finished will bo fully cnuipned with all modern appliances. A NEW LINER.. FOR THE INTERCOLONIAL TRADE. ' According to advices, which reached Wellington by yesterday's mni!, ,a steel screw steamship of 6500 tona, built by Messrs. J. Brown and Co., Ltd., to the order of Huddart, Parker and 00. Proprietary, Ltd.. was successfully launched at Glasgow, in January, and christened the Zeaiandia. The now vessel, which is an enlarged edition of the TJlimnroa, is to lie employed in tho passenger trade between Sydney and New Zealand ports. She is 410 ft. in length, with a beam of 54ft. 7in., and a depth of im. 2in. The Zeaiandia has been built under special survey, and will bo classed 100 Al at Lloyds. She will also bo cnuipped in accordance with the Board, of Trade requiromonts for a foreign-going passenger steamer. Accommodation is to bo provided for about 200 first-class passengers, 120 second-class,- and 126 third-class. The officers and crow will number about 130. The first-class accommodation, consisting of two and three-berth stale rooms and ■ public rooms, will bo arranged amidships on the uoncr, shelter, and promenade dcclts. The second-class accommodation will bo arranged at the aft end and on the upper and shelter decks, and will comprise state rooms, dining saloon, mußlc* room, and smoking rooms. The dining ea-
loon, placed on the upper Seek, will occupy tho full width o£ the vessel, and will seat 90 persons. The third-class accommodation will be arranged forward on the mam, upper, and shelter decks, with cabins for from two to six passengers., . Four cargo holds are. to be fitted with hatches to each, and eleven- sets of Welin quadrant davits will be fitted.
