The Tux, Valuation, and Advances to Settlers pepartments'>got off their annual 50 yards swimming-face at the Thorndqn Baths last evening. The results were:— First heat: J. Leys, 1; W. White; 2; R. Eves, 3. Also started: W. G. M'Clintock, C. Hurley, and W. Penny. Second heat: C. Paul, 1; A. Hill, 2; C. Peart, 3. Also started: A. M'Caw, H. Clark, C. Bray, C. Froser, and F.'Tucker. Third heat: C. Lovatt, lj R. Harrison, 2; S. 0. Clark and W. Hill (dead heat), 3.'. Also started: W. Lovell, H. Murray, T. Newbold, and A. Prichard. The.final will be 1 decided next week. '.■'•;.■•
