ROYAL PICTURES.
[His Majesty's Theatre was crowded to the doors once more last evening when the usual weekly change of programme was submitted.. The pictures :'constituting the new series were admirably diversified, going far.'to prove that in' the realm of kinematpgraphy. there is no. limit to' the subjects -that can be made interesting in the form of'animated pic-, tures. _The educative value, of the industrial picture was evidenced in "The Cork Industry,"- which .illustrated the process, of;.cork-making from; the time the bark 'is'stripped" from the treesuntil the neatly-cut and branded ,corks. are shipped away iii huge bales to all. corners of, the earth. 'All'the world 'loves..a. lover,'and so..did last evening's audiencc, when it, ■gloated over the dramatic picture "Saved by . His : Sweetheart."' A-young, man is entrusted by his employer with a '.large sum: of money to bank. : En route to . the bank he meets his sweetheart," and tells her of his mission. Proceeding on his wayalone he is robbed and left senseless, whilst' his,' despoilers make off through the park. They, pass, the' girl, 'who recognises the bag her lover carried a few minutes before. Fearing foul-play, she follows the robbers, and, by a .trick succeeds in get;, 'ting-possession:of the bag. Meanwhile the young man' has returned to' the office, where his employer,; refusing to believe his story,; is,, about - to ' hand, him over to the police, when the girl appears with the money. ; She leads the police to the robbers' haunt,- and sees.them dragged ;to justice. - "The Devil Woman" 'is another. 1 --highly dramatic picture". . It details the extent to-which strong emotions may' go,- and tho, clever ruse of a detec-tive-doctor in saving the victim from an lawful'crime. ; "\Vas Justice Served?" is another strongly-acted picture that found :great. favour .with, : the audience. -"The Kingdom Of Lilliput" was.' distinctly .quaint. For this picture quite a corps of dwarfs havo been secured, anii the little scene which they are-, concerned ill —a bowderisation of - "Cinderella"—is most amusing. ; Other good. pictures are "Into the ,' Shadow," ' "No.Excitement," < "The "Pitiless Dentist," '"Across ;tho Glaciers," "The • Goddess and the Sea," and "Col--,ino's.Fire'Extinguisher.". - .
